....this is a very personal impression of where our home is, in fact the Aljezur castle is virtually our next door neighbour ....the path underneath, lit by green lanterns is where we take our dogs for a walk followed by the cats...at the base is the old bus stop where the pensioners hang out................... when evening sets in we get this view walking back home after a glass of wine or some time at the new studio.....Oil on canvas, 80x30cm

......am well and truly installed in my new studio now, and for the first time in years, well ever really, i have most of my work hanging on the four walls around me....never had this sort of space.........It’s an invigorating experience and making me look at past work and think what I could have done differently, or how I may have got it right.......And the visits this new place brings are a constant inspiration........Today, I had a mother and two children who loved the crocodile who had eaten the dentist - and a gallery owner from Naples who seemed to love everything and made a video.....My favourite Aljezur restaurant owner came in as I was setting up and gave a look of what could have been horror, but Tash informs it was a look that said: “I am impressed”.The only thing this all means is that I have to be ‘in the shop’ more. It’s Open Studio when open...but I never imagined I would come down the road and find people waiting.
